We started with a simple goal: grow a brand-new newsletter from scratch. With no existing audience, we knew the path ahead would be challenging. 

In the beginning, it was clear that getting subscribers at a profitable rate was going to be tough. With a brand-new newsletter, it’s rare to find a winning ad immediately. 

Our first few ad attempts didn’t give us the results we needed at the volume we wanted. We couldn’t reach the low cost-per-subscriber that would allow us to scale quickly.

We created a fresh batch of ads—testing different messages, designs, and audience combinations. 

Over the course of two months, we tested over 15 new creative concepts with 4-6 variations, each designed to engage and convert our target audience.

Finally, after rigorous testing, we hit the jackpot! We discovered an ad that performed beyond our expectations, bringing in subscribers at a cost of only $0.58 per subscriber.

With this winning ad, we were able to drive 10,208 subscribers in just 2 months! And the best part? This growth was achieved profitably, thanks to our careful management of ad spend and constant optimization.

Scaling Success Over the course of the campaign, we spent a total of $5,944.01, which resulted in massive subscriber growth. We reached a click rate of 1.39% and an open rate of 27.06%, demonstrating strong engagement from our new audience.

As the number of subscribers grew, so did the newsletter’s profitability. By September alone, earnings had already hit $4,528.69, a huge milestone that showed our growth efforts were paying off.

What’s Next? Right now, we’re spending about $100 to $200 a day on ads. But with this incredible momentum, we’re pushing to scale further. Our next goal is to increase ad spend to $400 to $600 a day to drive even more subscribers.
